What does Dermapen microneedling treat?
Medical microneedling with Dermapen 4 is a sought-after skin renewal procedure that effectively treats a wide range of concerns. Scarring. Skin laxity. Wrinkles. Collagen deficiency. Uneven skin tone and texture. Enlarged pores. Acne scarring. Pigmentation. Ageing or sun damaged skin. Rosacea. Stretch marks. Surgical scars.
When can results be seen?
You will see a noticeable glow in your skin a few days after your first session. Permanent changes in your skin will be visible after a course of treatments.
Week 1 - Initial healing phase:
Your skin begins healing during the first week after Dermapen microneedling. You may notice some flaking or peeling as skin cells shed and new skin emerges. This phase is critical as it lays the foundation for the overall success of the treatment. It's important to maintain a gentle skincare routine during this period. Use mild, hydrating products and avoid anything that could irritate your skin.
Weeks 2-4 - The collagen production phase:
Approximately two to four weeks after your Dermapen microneedling treatment, you'll start to see more significant microneedling results. This is when collagen and elastin production increases, leading to noticeable skin texture and tone improvements. Fine lines, acne scars and other imperfections will begin to diminish, revealing a smoother and more radiant complexion.
This phase is particularly exciting because it marks the visible start of your skin's rejuvenation journey. However, individual results can vary based on factors such as age, skin type and the severity of the skin issues being treated.
Month 2-6 Continued improvements and long-term results:
Between two to six months post-treatment, you'll continue to see improvements in your skin. During this time, your skin will look and feel healthier, with a noticeable reduction in the appearance of scars, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. The new collagen and elastin fibres formed during this period provide long-lasting benefits, giving you a more youthful and radiant complexion.
One of the most appealing aspects of Dermapen microneedling is its ability to deliver long-term results. Unlike some cosmetic procedures that offer quick but temporary improvements, microneedling works with your skin's natural processes to create lasting changes.
How much downtime will there be?
Immediately after your Dermapen microneedling treatment, your skin will appear red and feel tender, similar to mild sunburn. Itching is a common side effect along with dry or tight skin. These reactions are completely normal and indicate that the treatment is working. You may also experience slight swelling and pinpoint bleeding during the procedure, both of which quickly subside. Any post procedure redness will diminish in the first 24 to 48 hours after the treatment, though some residual pinkness may persist for a few days. Typically, visible skin recovery such as skin dryness and flaking following Dermapen procedure is seen 3-5 days post treatment.
FAQs
-
Dermapen 4 treatment is so comfortable that numbing cream is not required. Thanks to the pens advanced technology, including oscillating (up and down) motion, incredible speed, and ultra-fine sharp needles.
To ensure you receive the best results possible, we do not recommend numbing cream as this can slow down the body’s natural inflammatory response and hinder the synthesis of collagen a key protein that contributes to healthy, supple and radiant skin. This device sets the new standard when it comes to painless microneedling.
-
The number of microneedling sessions required varies based on your unique skin concerns and treatment goals. Typically, a course of 3 to 6 treatments, spaced every four weeks is recommended to achieve the best possible results. While anti-wrinkle injections and fillers focus on restoring volume and reducing muscle contractions to prevent deeper lines, they do not enhance skin quality. In contrast, microneedling addresses the skin's surface, improving its thickness and overall quality. Healthier, more hydrated skin results in even better outcomes from anti-wrinkle injections and filler treatments.

Absolutely! During menopause, women experience a significant decline in collagen production, leading to noticeable changes in skin appearance. Microneedling effectively stimulates collagen production, addressing various menopausal skin concerns, including age spots, fine lines, and wrinkles.

Exosomes are tiny vesicles released by cells, playing a key role in cell communication and healing. An important function of exosomes is to transport important molecules that convey messages between cells. For example, exosomes released during tissue repair carry messages that promote cell migration and tissue regeneration.
-
When combined with microneedling exosomes significantly enhance skin renewal, tightening, and firming. If your skin needs repair and rejuvenation, exosomes are your go-to.
Enhanced Skin Rejuvenation: Exosomes promote the growth and regeneration of skin cells, smoothing out rough or uneven skin to enhance overall skin texture and appearance.
Collagen Production: Exosomes stimulate fibroblasts to produce more collagen and elastin, improving skin firmness and elasticity.
Intense Hydration: Exosomes enhance the skin's ability to retain moisture and strengthen the skin barrier, resulting in a plumper, more hydrated complexion.
-
After microneedling, your skin is in a state of repair. Exosomes provide growth factors that stimulate collagen production and promote faster tissue repair. They can also be used to reduce the inflammation after microneedling, as exosomes contain anti-inflammatory properties. Exosomes also promote the production of both collagen and elastin, which enhances the skin-tightening and firming. Together microneedling and exosomes provide a double boost for skin renewal.
Exosomes provide hydration and calming benefits that soothe the skin and reduce the likelihood of redness and flushing that can occur with microneedling. Overall, exosomes are powerful in reducing redness and sensitivity, maintaining hydration, and supporting collagen production and skin regeneration.
